Well many article, RR magazine, clinic, books have been written, this thread for guys who like to adding stuffs and working on engine.
The photos show a few cheap and simple tools to make engine valuable and bring the loco to live.

I'm currently looking for the match for the Santa Fe war bonnet red? Which paint did you use on those grabirons? Thanks, Anthony G.

 

Anthony, I know the older ATSF Kato units the red was NYC Pacemaker Red.

 

Soo line red is perfect match.

I used water base Model flex paint.

 

Most details parts added from BLMA and using water base Model Flex.
