Hi Doug, You might some interest in a web site I have put up http://www.xdford.digitalzones.com/quicklayoutconstruction01.html As Digitalzones do not hot links you will need to copy and paste the link into your browser. It might give you a clue of to make a lightweight test track. Some have reported that Norton does not like some of the sites on digitalzones... mine has been checked as safe. The rest of my site http://www.xdford.digitalzones.com also has a number of items that may help you with other projects, Regards from Australia Trevor
Hey Doug, nice trains... ...your blue B&O steamer is especially striking. I'm in the same situation as you, boxes of trains and no layout yet. But we'll build one eventually. Greg
the blue b&o is a old metal mantua loco. i also had a 4-6-2 southern crescent and a 2-8-2 mikado penn lines. but someone wanted to buy them and i couldn't help but sell them for as much as someone was willing to give. so that narrowed me down a little. the red texas special passenger set is from the 50s. i like it a lot, and the bachmann 0-6-0 is a old at&sf body with a newer chassis and newer black handrails with matching at&sf old time passenger cars. that's prob. not the way they ran back in the day but when i put them all together they matched very well and i liked the end result. i have a lot of stuff i really like and that's what's kept me in the hobby of collecting this stuff for so long. thanks for the compliment btw.
Nice collection of trains there Doug. I'm with you at the moment; no layout:tb-frown: But in a short bit I will HO also. N got a little too small. But there's plenty of fun to have in the hobby anyway
