I have just got back from the Railway Enthusiasts Club's 2010 model railway exhibition at Woking Leisure Centre in Surrrey, England. I was showing my 'Cuyahoga' Nickel Plate Road layout in that area for the first time and was delighted to find 5 other Z layouts there as well. It is rare to find even one other Z layout at most general model railway exhibitions so this turn out was a bonus. Dave Dawes was there with his 'California Coast' Southern Pacific layout and Eric Jones had three of his brief case layouts including a solar panel powered one and a model of the Alsaka R.R in a glass fronted case. The general public were, once again, astounded at how well modern Z scale locomotives run. Both Dave and myself were complimented all weekend on the smooth running and scale speeds we operated our layouts at. I have posted a video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqBoW32LYW4 Next---Zedex 2010 in four weeks time at its now regular venue at the village hall in Kingston Bagpuize with Southmoor in Oxfordshire on the tenth of October. If you are in the area call in and meet most of the U.Ks Zedheads!
