Now that will make me want to start moving to metal wheelsets. Thanks for another awesome product Craig.
I figured as much, but I thought I would check. I didn't think you'd release a new line of trucks and then a new line of wheels that wouldn't fit them in case a swap out was ever needed, but it doesn't hurt to ask. I am looking forward to this next release of gondolas. Thanks for continuing to produce N scale stuff.
Great News, Awesome Wheelsets! Fits Micro Trains Trucks, my guess is this means it will also fit Athearn Trucks? Will we be seeing 38" in the future?
Very Nice. I'm guessing 33 inch are typical on modern coal cars? The only thing would make life better is a another run of TOPGON's. You can never have too many.
At 96 cents per axle they're a little pricier than the Fox Valley wheelsets (74 cents per axle) but hey, this is great for N scale -- we have more choices in metal wheelsets! More choices means better quality.
We'll touch on this in the upcoming video, but as the only metal wheel on the market with a front AND backside profile, the machining time for these wheels is double - thus, the slightly higher price. So, not exactly apples to apples in this case.
I'm sure these will be useful to a lot of people. Myself, I'm not going to dare put such awesome wheels in a MT truck. I'll stick with the full truck product Now if there was a bulk pack for that...
It seems that wheels used to be metal, then plastic, now metal again, when are they going to get it right ? oh, flanges, thats it flanges ! Another reason to spend more moeny, LOL ! Lawd have mercy ! fatalxsunrider43
In general, I just wait for my stock wheels to have problems and then I swap them out for FVM wheels, although with BLMA's really sharp wheels here I think I will get some of those and try them out on my next plastic wheel disasters. I don't care for plastic wheels, but I know that other people like them. I am certainly not going to tell someone how to run their own railroad. There are some good reasons for using plastic wheels when it comes to things like reverse loops. The "plastic vs. metal wheels" debate is another one that flares up on model railroad forums from time to time. That's when I grab my pint and duck down behind the bar, figuratively speaking. Adam
You'll get thrown out of the League of N Scale Manufacturers with that sort of thinking.:tb-wink: My stockpile of FVM wheels is running out, I may order a couple of packs of these.
I hope they are building on their rolling stock releases and will do a loco. I'd probably buy any road name of any loco type at any price point sight unseen.
