Sound - WOW! That's one gorgeous model, but I bet the sound chip would quite a challenge to program. Maybe just one steady roar with so many cylinders firing. :tb-cool:
I got an Athearn 4-6-6-4 Challenger for Christmas but it wasn’t delivered on time for the big day so I have to wait a few more days, but I did get a Bachman 2-8-0 Consolidation with decoder installed for my birthday a few days ago to keep me entertained until then. :thumbs_up:cool: Oh I also got an Athearn SD70M and a Kato UP MoPac 1982 with decoders from my daughters. biggrin:
I picked out my Christmas train, Kato's Broadway Limited with GG1 #4935 at a show in the beginning of December, but I only got it on Christmas. Only problem is, when I took it out of the box, one of the trucks was loose and fell off and now I can't get the little driveshaft arranged correctly.
My wife bought me an ABA set of Kato GN f-7s, two GN big sky blue covered hoppers, and several accessories. I also got an early birthday order of two GN big sky blue SD45's, some of Atlas's new double door 40' boxcars, and a couple of Micro Train heavy weight passenger cars to add to my Northern Pacific M of W train. I also have a feeling she bought me Kato's Sd45 Hustle Muscle for my birthday, I'll know for sure Wednesday morning Cheers: Bill
My son got me the MKT caboose in bicentennial colors with the EOT light on the back, Im one happy Katy guy as I will have it running at the Anaheim show
I was surprised, my girlfriend got me a train calendar. Not really N specific, but right subject for the RR room. Jim
I got a few more things from santa. A Micro trains Center Beam car WP with custom load that I made cause I didn;t like the one it came with. I also got a three pack of Micro Trains CN boxcars. And a pair of Atlas GM&O pulpwood flat cars. I also found these on ebay in N scale these are very rare a GM&O kitbashed rail car and a GM&O Ingalls.
My wife got me Lance Mindheim's book How to Build a Switching Layout as well as a $50 gc to Feather River Trains. I'm hoping to pick up one of the Athearn LPG tankers when they have them in stock again as well as one of the new 64' ARMN reefers - probably BLMA to support Craig. But can I wait until summer??? -Dave
I got two big bags of Heki trees for the layout, and a trix power supply for the 220V electricity in Europe. See the modeling photos of the year thread for my wife's photo of me.. "Say Trees!!!"
My young sons picked up an Intermountain Norfolk Southern SD45-2 from the hobby shop and wrapped it for me. They liked the horse logo. Runs smooth and looks great. It's the first eastern power in my SP/DRGW power pool.
The wife Got me 2 Hallmark Brass SP SD45's. (I love that woman) Now I need some nose light clusters to put on them. Anyone know where I can get some?
Fortunately having been in the hobby for a long time I just don't need much anymore in the way of motive power or cars anymore. That said I always have the need for small unique structures so this X-mas I found Wicked Wanda's by Bar Mills in my X-mas stocking. Another nice little wood kit to add to Waterfront Willy's and create that run down riverfront scene I want eventually.
I recieved 3 of the Athearn Flat Sided LPG Tank Cars and a $30.00 gift card to Hobbytown, which I bought a beginner's casting kit. I bought my son his first Kato locomotive for Xmas. An SD70M in UP Building America scheme.
