I spoke with a local dealer yesterday who mentioned that Bachmann had aquired Aristocraft's brass track Manufacturer (from what I understand, this manufacturer also provided other companies with their stock). Is this true? This made me wonder if I should wait a year or two before I begin to purchase brass track rather than looking for Aristocraft track now (because I eventually want an outdoor garden). I am led to think that track prices are going to rise with no new brass track being available until Bachmann unveils its brass track. And Bachmann, typically with a lower price tag on its products, may offer its brass track with the same lower price. Any thoughts are welcome!
Brass Track kttii Not sure who makes what.....but I have used several different brands.....especially the flex tracks. In my opinion......track prices will not go down. If anything, they will increase over time. If u can buy now........buy some now........USA, Aristo, AML, etc......guage one tracks are compatable........so take advantage of some deals now. You may always be able to find online auction deals.......but that is always a crap shoot. Just my .02 Darryl
Unfortunately, I must agree about prices. You might find something via a post-Christmas sale, and save a little money. But otherwise, any downward trend in cost is unlikely. Boxcab E50
Nearly a year later, but it appears this rumor is true. Bachmann has listed brass track on their site now. MSRP is $$$, but there is hope in that most Bachmann products can be found for 40% off or more. Scott
Bachmann now has brass track? Well even if it's Marklin-LGB China quality, anything is better than there stainless steel track. I will investigate that at the local train show this coming sunday.
Bachmann's track has different ties than aristo, usa or lgb. Their tie pattern is based on narrow guage practice to go along with their 1:20.3 offerings.
