I'd probably get some Micro Krystal Klear (from Micro-Scale) and a fine brush. Just use a tiny bit around the edge of the window and pop it into place. Remove the excess with water. HTH, The S.
Do you have the part or are you manufacturing it? I have manufactured these windows; it just takes time and not too hard. I used Micro Krystal Klear to install the part.
I replaced a window in an F3, used some flat clear enamel to fix it to the shell. I think I should get some Micro Krystal Klear for future fixes.
Intermountain suggests clear Testor canopy "model airplane" cement,LHS. It can also be used to FIX the eteched grills that come loose on F7's. Can also be used to make glass in n scale windows.
You can contact Intermountain for spare parts. They were very helpful in getting me parts without many questions other than my address. The S.
If you lost a window, or one got broken, please send us an email or give us a call we'll take care of getting the parts for you.
Let me say I contacted Intermountaion and they did indeed send me parts with no charge. I work for one of the worlds largest communication companies and I wish they would follow this example. Thank you Intermountain!!!!!! I look forward to more of your products running on my railroad. I have seven of their F units and maybe a dozen of their freight cars. Love em all. Thanks again!
As far as I'm concerned........"Intermountain" CAN'T BE BEAT in the customer service arena!! :tb-cool:
I've lost a couple of F unit windshields. Gluing windows in from the outside is one of the things IM seriously need to change, apart from losing the occasional one when they pop out they look like pieces of clear plastic glued in a hole rather than windows and they rarely get them to mount flush with the body. Every other manufacturer can do flush mounted windows fitted from the inside, even Bachmann who can do the rubber or aluminium gasket around the edge to boot, it's time IM tried. Off the soapbox now, just one of my pet peeves if you're tuned in IM.
