Hi guys! I recently traded off a bunch of N scale stuff for a bunch of HO and in the trade I got a loco that I absolutely LOVE but I hate the paint on it and I was wondering if anyone knows of someone who does repaints or would be interested in a straight across trade? The loco I have is the MTH SD70ACe with proto sound decoder and the DCC controlled couplers. This loco is absolutely awesome in every way. It is painted for the Southern Pacific UP Heritage #UP1996. I would like to trade it for either a BNSF "swoosh" paint scheme, or the George Bush, Rio Grande Heritage, or possibly the UP "flag" scheme. I strongly prefer the BNSF paint and if anyone will trade or repaint this for me I would greatly appreciate it! Let me know guys!

Unless a person is a casftsman with paint, repainting newer factory units is a crime IMHO. The cost for the repaint done properly would probably equal the purchase cost of a new unit. You may swap, but if this is a UP unit, there is not a shortage and selling/re-buying may be your best option. Or, you can just weather it almost black and sell it as truly classic Espee. Just wipe clean the number boards after weathering and you are truly authentic.

I was afraid someone would say that. I suppose I could always buy the BNSF unit, then sell this one. That will take some saving though. These things are expensive. :tb-sad:
