    All,
Since I had to tear out half of the G Scale layout in the front yard, it was
a rather simple process to tear out the entire layout!! Bought wrong track clamps.
Used over joiner clamps, instead of regular track clamps. So, the OJ clamps needed replacement.

Since half the layout was OJ clamps, it was easy to just go forth and tear down the entire layout.
So now, I'm looking for a quick and easy way to possibly dispose of my complete collection.
Track and equipment. At some point, maybe, it's all gotta go. Unless I'm talked out of
    disposing of complete collection.

Never able to do anything about the bridge I needed over an 18" curved gap.
Also never able to get the GMM girder bridges installed. Plus, my own health
condition(s) and weather prevented me from going out and trying to get something done.

Really, I think it boils down to the following:

    No help
    No interest any longer.

    As always, Information appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Keith,
I am very sorry to hear about your decision. It is never easy to part with a hobby that one loves. I can understand the situation, however.
I have only purchased, never sold, my g scale items.......however, I would think , that short of a local group, store, or G scale club.....ones best choice would be either on this forum, or one of the other train forums.......and then the dreaded Ebay. I also would think that one would have to be ok with the fact that one may not get the prices that they really want with the sale. Just my .02 cents.

It is very interesting on this forum......I come back from time to time....but havent seen the usual posters that were here for a while when I was building my layout. Makes me wonder what happend to them.

Good luck with your endevour......I enjoyed seeing your layout.

    Regards,

Since then, I've changed my mind.
    Started rebuilding track in sections.
But, before I go any farther, I gotta find
a/the suggested grease for keeping track joints
clean etc...as I really don't want to tear apart again
to grease joints because I did not do so before rebuilding.
Plus, it will give me a chance to match up track joints, especially on
curves. I had some gaps a bit larger than I cared for. While they did not cause
regular problems, they did cause trouble once in a while. Usually freight car derailments, right behind locomotive(s).
Maybe by doing this, I can get the narrow gauge stuff to run a bit more reliably.
Was also having turnout trouble with the K-27, so maybe this will help it as well.
And a couple of turnouts that were not working out very well. Hard to access.
Maybe a few photos as layout undergoes rehab.

Keith! Glad to hear you haven't abandoned all hope for the G scale! What I suggest is rebuilding smaller, using the quality materials that you mentioned above. Smaller is easier to maintain, easier to get work done on, so you are not overwhelmed. I speak from experience! Having build over-ambitious N scale layout, and never having gotten even rough scenery finished, I had to go smaller. Speaking of, I need to get crackin'....

    Hi Keith,

Graphite grease will do the job - should be available at your local auto parts supplier.

    Keith,
Glad to hear of the change of heart. It wold be a daunting task to sell, even my limited amount, of g scale.......dont even want to think of it right now!!
I do have a boat load of N scale that I will probably never use again....and need to do something with. I just need to get it to some place and sell and be done with it.
As for the other item, the grease. I have both the Hillman clamps, as well as typical rail joiners with the little screws, and have had no need for the grease. Im not sure how your connections differ from mine.....but by checking from time to time that the connections are secure...may help enough. Hope u find what u need.

    Regards,

    Darryl
