I still have a lot to do but I got the tree up. My wife is decorating it now and once she’s done, I can push the entire layout back in the corner so I have room to work on finishing up. I have the layout on 16 caster wheels so it can move for decorating and working on the layout. I painted my mountain side and waterfall yesterday between the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] and 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] level off my Christmas Layout. Here is a photo of the mill where I built a wooden water spillway from the mill to spill into the river below so I didn’t have to add another waterfall or widen the lower river. I need to start on the river next, but I have to wait until the tree is done.
"Santa will be proud!" - my foot!! Santa's gonna be playing with that all night long and I won't get my toys!! Thanks a lot! Nice layout, though......... Darrell, quiet...for now
I’ve made a lot more progress. I had set a Dec 1[SUP]st[/SUP] deadline for myself, but I haven’t been feeling well this week. I did get my river done and did a little painting. I just have a small modification to the harbor below to make room for a yacht club and I want to put a road in for some of my building in front. Oh and I got Santa’s village done except I put a stupid Santa picture in the window behind the tree that just has to go.
Oh I forgot about the ice skating pond. I made it from an old display I had that was turning yellow and was just too big to fit any where so I disassembled it and custom fit it into the layout itself. Just in case anybody is interested, this could be used for any scale layout buy replacing the characters with the correct scale and attach stick on magnet and cloth on the bottom. Here is a video I made with slide show photos and video of it actually working. [video=youtube;HG41uf2RRlA]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HG41uf2RRlA[/video]
Video of my 2011 Christmas Layout Ok, I'm done. Now I can sit back and enjoy it. [video=youtube;kVPNGc8sWIE]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVPNGc8sWIE[/video]
