TCS CN or CN-GP?

Hey Guys and Gals, I was gifted an old SD45 that is not DCC friendly and was wondering if it matters which decoder I put in it, the CN or CN-GP. It looks like the CN is a 2 function decoder where the CN-GP is a four function. It would be nice to add a beacon some day so with that in mind what do you recommend?

i like the CN-GP i have put about 12 in my sd 45 they fit and work great

 

Did you have to modify the frame where the boards mount? It looks like thee is some extra frame parts that may interfere, but should be easy to file or remove.

 

slightly where the lightboard goes ,there are 2 lips right under it you have to file down.place the boardto the slot you will see it
