I did a search for this topic, but never really found any good discussions on it concerning HO track. What I would like to know is what are the pros and cons of EZ Track as compared to True Track?

I just want to keep things small and simple and that is why I am thinking of using one of these types of tracks.

I've no experience with True Track but I do have some with EZ Track and Kato Unitrack.

I'm running all Kato Unitrack now. Primarily because the Unitrack switches work better. Additionally, the Unitrack snaps together better for me and the electrical connections seem to be better overall.

The track couplers (Unijoiners) for Unitrack are also the electrical connections between sections and they are replaceable. If a Unijoiner breaks or goes bad, pop it out and replace it. With EZ Track, the track couplers are molded into the bed and if they break, that section is history.

Additionally, There are 3 types of Unijoiners that can be bought: Regular that provide power between sections, insulated to create breaks in power between sections and Terminal Unijoiners that allow power connections anywhere around the track.

I had issues with the EZ Track switches as they were easy to pick and caused lots of derailing of my steamers. I did a lot of filing on them.
The Kato Unitrack switches just work better.

I've used N sclae unitrack and HO EZ track. EZ track beats atlas, because it's more widely available. Though if I were going to do more than the most basic of layouts with it, I'd probably go with Kat Unitrack.
