Hi Everybody, I just uploaded 20 pictures of the small layout I built for my Railex Saxonia set. It fits in a glass-topped wooden display box. http://www.flickr.com/photos/rvn20012000/sets/72157629144498613/ Enjoy the pictures,
Ok, the tie spacing is what made me wonder. I wasn't sure if there was another company that made track that I wasn't aware of! Why did you remove the ties? regardless, it captures the look of a narrow gauge railroad and is we done
I noticed in pictures of the real locomotive in operation that the ties seemed farther apart than what we're used to seeing.
Thanks for sharing your photos with us. You do neat work. Steam engines of this very early era are not often modeled. How well do they run? Did you have to do much to them to get them to run? Terl
Thanks Terl, The Saxonia set is right out of the box from Railex. It's powered by a ghost car right behind the tender. It's designed to run on standard Z scale track so the only critical element is getting the track assembled correctly. The train runs very well but I try not to run it for too long since I don't want to overheat the motor and cause any problems that I can't fix. I've got a short video of it running here http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=xopnHFO43Dg
