I just received the Bluford Shops 86492 2-pack Santa Fe Auto Parts cars. I actually preordered them a year and a half ago and I totally forgot all about them. I’ve changed direction since then and don’t really need them anymore, but it was a nice surprise anyway. LOL
Not very exciting but interesting to me. A vintage Atlas 40 foot single sheathed box car for the Chicago & Illinois Midland:
Books about New Haven passenger cars, a book about train consists that I have want for quite a while now, pictures and slides of passenger cars... gotta keep the Passenger Car Photo Index a valuable resource not only to passenger car historians but also the many passenger car modelers across all scales.
I received my first sample Sierra Pacific lumber load from John Leader of N Scale Addiction. The loads are two pieces each and made of wood w/ wrapped graphics. They fit snuggly (no adhesive required) on 73 ft Red Caboose center beam cars. He also makes them for the 60' Micro Trains center beam cars, but the 73 ft is more common -at least in my area. If you're not familiar with his products, for one, they're high quality. He'll create loads to your desired locale/brand. He ships quickly and with care. I went with Sierra Pacific loads because it is common here in Northern California -also the location of my protolanced layout. John isn't trying to make money, rather, he's just raising funds to support his [wait for it...] n-scale addiction! However, judging by his layouts, he does get high on his on supply. Okay, I'm done ;-) The loads sell for about $12.50 shipped.

Recently, just building materials to continue on my layout base. Got some blue insulation foam boards and screws and such to start building my terrain. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 4

I just bought an Intermountain Northern Pacific FTA/B set. I have to GN sets and they are great pullers. John
Got a few DeLuxe Innovations 20' contains in the mail, from CH in Denver. Filled out my recently acquired Trainworx Rio Grande flats. Also preordered several of the Trainworx UPS 28' trailers, due in Nov sometime. That'll give me the trailers needed to fill out some BLMA flats! From a single trailer to triple 28's!
I picked these two gems up for like $7.50 each from one of those online retailers. They kinda warned about condition in their ad, but the FA only had a broken ladder (which was in the jewel case and I glued it back on with no issues) the BL2 has issues with the handrails and couplers but seems to run ok. I also got a couple cars described as Bev-Bel for $3-something each... they were both in new condition but only one was a Bev-Bel, the other was a plain Life-Like. I originally got these because I wanted two FAs for projects, I loved the Alco demo scheme so much I am going to keep it and run it as-is. The BL2 is up in the air, I was expecting it to be an FA (that's how they are being advertised) and I am not sure what to do about the handrails. Who knows, I couldn't pass on them for the price... I ended up ordering two more of the FAs.
Came home from the show today with two Kato SD40-2s and two Atlas U25Bs, all four in BN paint, plus one Bmann Alco S-4.
Got another Athearn 7000 class Challenger. That's five. It's on the bench right now getting its drawbar shortened along with two Athearn Big Boys. Did I mention I'm also improving the screw-in-the-stack so it's not so obvious? Got a plan to completely eliminate it, but I need to take some precision measurements before I get started. Cheerio! Bob Gilmore
Most recently was a previously owned but new Middlesex Manufacturing kit. Before that I got two green CP Rail boxcars and a Guilford SD26
