The NCE Bach-DSL decoder is a replacement board for DCC equipped Bachmann Diesel Locos.

It comes with LEDs that you solder to the board. The decoder works, but I can't get the lights to work.

Has anyone else had any experience with this decoder and may have some suggestions before I return it to the store?

    Thanks.

LED's are polarity sensitive. Reverse the two connections. You did not mention if you tried this yet. That should be mentioned or shown with the diagram.

Yes, I did try that. Tried them both ways. Neither works.

When something like this happens, do a decoder reset. Take your multimeter and check for voltage at the decoder light tabs. There are four tabs.
With no LED in place, you should see about 12 VDC. The 1k resistor on the decoder will have no effect on the reading as no current is being drawn.
