I'm lazy and seek a chart that tells me which Kato pieces will match to make specific lengths. Does anyone have one, or a link to one?
    Thanks

Thank you both. I also started an excel spreadsheet, if it gets useful, I will share it.

One of the big pains to me, is that there is no standard of definition of all of the Unitrack between listings, definitions, PC Rail design programs etc. What do i mean by that - easy - Take the 'long' straight track piece for example.
one place uses 'S248', another uses '000', another uses '248mm', and yet another says '9-3/4'
the curves - are just as much fun

This scenario is repeated for almost all the track pieces. The RR Trak program uses the mm part numbers, but when a joint is not able to be mated up, the program spits out the offage in inches - and you are left trying to figure out what is needed.

However, the product is the greatest, as many here will say:)

Interesting observations. I agree about both the pain and the greatest.

Sooooo...the track planning programs are at fault not unitrack. Sounds like someone needs to contact the track planning programers and chew butt....just sayin.

You could just multiply the inches by 25.4 to get the size in millimeters.

:rn-laugh: Hah hah - but come on - remember - lol - we are lazy, as the opening line says, and we dont wanna hafta do all that work - i mean even to google .18mm is too much work, gotta leave the plan page and go to another window. (sorry - i couldnt resist saying all that)

I think that working in real-time, with the unitrack is the best problem solver, as there is a small amount of 'give' in joining up loops and such - just be sure to have a good stock of the Kato N 20091 Unitrack Straight Short Track Assortment on hand - the small pieces do wonders with sidings join-up
