Got my BLI AC6000CW with Paragon 2 sound today. She sounds just awesome but my little track just won't let her run!

Around the first curve she tripped the reset...on to the third curve and tripped it again. Didn't even make it around the track one time.

Looks like someone is going to get a great deal on this brand new unit.

I will have to stick with my GP38-2...now I just want one with some sound, lol.

Heartbroke...and blue as the font on this post.

Can you join a club with a layout big enough for her?

Sounds like an excuse to rebuild/expand the layout... :)

Did you check you electrical connections? I have the Paragon F7. I put it on the track and it would trip the reset button as well. I found that my rail joiners were loose. Replacing them / soldering the rail together solved the problem. Also are you using sectional track or flex track on your curves? I tried to use flextrack to make 18' radius curves. I found that even with careful planning, some areas of my curve were sharper than 18' and derailed my SD40T2. I went to 18' sectional track and have had no problem since. So I would look at these areas of the layout first. Also, look at the rail ends and make sure they match up with each other (one rail not higher than the rail on the next track section). Don't give up just yet.

I am trying to get my layout ready because I am awaiting my BLI AC6000 from my dealer. So far so good.

Defiantly check your connections. My first BLI would do nothing but make neutral sonds.
It turned out to be bad wires from my power supply. Most engines don't have the load demand that Broadway Limiteds seem to.

Could be a simple fix. Good luck.

Thanks all of you for the advice. I tried it once again and she's running beautifully on the main track right now.

I think I need to solder each joint. I am using Kato Unitrack code 83, a store bought setup and I'm afraid the turnouts are going to be too sharp, maybe not, I'm just have not tried her on a turnout as of yet.

I figure I'll let her run for quite a few minutes before doing anything else...she seems to be smoothing up.

Thanks again. I sure hope I'm able to keep this one on my track, she's a beauty.

Your turnouts should be fine. My understanding is all kato track is at least 22.5. And the BLI AC6000 is supposed to run on 18". Just make sure your connections are good. I bet you'll be fine.

I know it looks a little tight. But I can pull 20 cars around 18" track with an AC4400. And it's not even rated for 18".

Glad to hear it is working well. You should be fine as long as your turnouts are at least #6s. Bases only on my experiences, I would reccommend that you do not use Peco insulfrog switches.
