Trying to remove just the car numbers on some of these cars so I can decal them with individual numbers. I want to leave all the other printing as is. I have tried 91% Isopropal alcohol and a Q tip but it didn't even phase the lettering but did takeoff some of the car color. Any suggestions?

Try using some Solv-A-Set on just the lettering you want removed. Let it set for a few seconds, then use a soft pencil eraser and rub just that area.

Patch it like the prototype does. Sometimes you can match the color so well it doesn't look like a patch.

One could try lighter fluid as it works just as good as solviset to soften decals and is some what cheaper .

You could use a fiberglass pen and rub them off.
