Never thought I would see one of THOSE on this thread !!! My step brother had one, and I had one in BN. His ran OK, while mine sounded like five lug nuts in a coffee can and stalling constantly !!! 35 years later, it still runs. Or should I say it moves !!!
I agree, too... Maybe a different scheme: the blue and white scheme, I think, could make a snoot a little less apparent.
I recently picked up a really crappy Hallmark/Kumata EMD E3/6 A/B set on eBay (for encyclopedia review purposes). The shells were damaged, the paint was a disaster, the B unit barely ran, and the A unit didn't run at all. However, after applying some of Ron Bearden's magical Kumata performance tweaks, I actually got both units to run quite well. So, I decided to go ahead and paint 'em up in Rock Island livery - Still have a few things left to do, but I'm liking where things are headed so far. I tell ya, that Ron Bearden is one sharp dude -Mark
Which ones? They all look OK to me, but maybe my ISP had a blip outage - that's where most of them are stored. -Mark
Hmmm. Something is not right. The recent DL109 photos, your last E3-6 units painted. None showing. Did not look back further.
Now I am seeing them again just fine. Must have been the photo hosting site, as it was just those in this one topic.
Anybody else score one of these Bluford beauties? Nice to have that arrow added to our quiver Cheers, -Mark
Had not been following this release closely. So this is the time I have seen an up close photo. Where were these assigned?
Boxcab, these things were EVERYWHERE !!! We had two that lived in the old CRI&P Joliet Yard. I'm sure many more were prowling around closer to Chicago.
