I got a Noch Static Grass Thingee for Christmas and have a question. I tried to use the funnel (cone?) to spread grass over a narrow area. However, the grass formed a long string from the nozzle's mouth to the ground. When I lifted the Noch slightly to see if that would let the grass spread evenly, the grass released from the nozzle and fell to the glue area as a clump. Also with the Noch raised there didn't seem to be enough charge to get the grass to flow, even with shaking. The Noch works fine with the two screens, it's just the nozzle that's giving me problems. Has anyone had and solved this problem?
On my homemade static grass applicator (based on the Noch model), the screen has to be fairly close to the surface, maybe an inch or two. Above that and it is not very effective. Seems like the nozzle prohibits the screen from being close to the surface. Jamie
Jamie, I think the nozzle is made of a conducting carbon material, because the grass string forms at the nozzle tip, not 3"-4" back at the hopper body where the screens are mounted when not using the nozzle. Obviously I'm doing something wrong when using the nozzle, just don't know what??????
