Argh. This started me thinking, what would mine be? RI? CGW? MRL? Or? I'm getting a headache, trying to decide!
I have a boxcar lettered for the G&D...GREAT railroad! I used to have a Concor UP turbine (I might still have it, just haven't seen it in awhile). Don't model UP or the '60's, I just had it because the prototype was cool...
GE Products Until I got a Bachmann 44 Tonner, the only GE locomotives I had were Kato U30Cs, both in BN Bicentennial and BN 5383. I have 5383 only because it is at the Illinois Railway Museum. I got the GS-4 (at a huge discount BTW) because it reminded me of going to see the Freedom Train in 1975.
That one is almost on the "must have" list. Got mine, a V&O, and also the T&RGW as soon as they could be found.
Just because I won it in a raffle at the convention banquet in Oklahoma City last December. I put in a decoder so it will now be one of my train show locos that have nothing to do with our club layout theme so I only run them when there is an NTRAK layout with a bunch of clubs.
That exact Life-Like RI BL-2 is one of 3 locos I have "just because". The others are a Bachmann J and an Atlas Alco C-630.
Well...... CP Rail leased "anything" that ran in 1970 and 71 because of a severe power shortage and as such they ran an AB pair of F3's from the Chicago Great Western..... (the onlt F3's ever to run on the CPR).... Now, I model 1973 so it's a heck of a stretch but..... I couldn't resist painting these and running them............
This somehow found it's way to Whereford, TX. I bought the Graham Farish model just because I've always liked the prototype Deltic, thought it's not really that far fetched, the real loco was planned to be demonstrated in Canada, hence the never used headlight casings. Oh, and disregard the JR Hokkaido DD51 on the next track.:startled:
The E-R Sharks were pretty nice locomotives for the money. Wish they hadn't gone under. I have three AB sets of Sharks in demo paint.
