Found this on a website can anyone tell me if this is ho or n scale? I have a great layout given to me on this site I plan to build but with moving, transferring colleges and a engagement ring being bought a full layout may not be possible right now but I'm dying to work on a layout! So basically looking for a nice 1x4 to 2x8 HO switcher layout I can build that will attach to my layout in the future

Judging by the spacing and amount of tracks, I am leaning more towards HO scale.

This HO plan is by the late SteinJr, who passed away some month's ago. Quite some of his designs were based on the Mnpl milling district.

Thanks for the help guys, he had some real great plans sorry about the loss. On another note I've finally figured out which I am choosing I really want to get going and order track since the fiance is gone all next week :D I'm not to good with reading plans and figuring out what track I need, I assume the long stretches are flex track should 8 be enough? Then I believe the turnouts are 9", how hard is it to wire or should I just do manual? The last question is on the third track near the truck dock what size is that middle piece between turnouts or is that extra flex track? Any help would be appreciated and the next posts can be updates hopefully not questions. Again, thanks for any help!

I'm sort of confused (not a new thing), you're showing two different track plans. Either one could be done in HO or N but the track that is laid, only #1 has a real through track for connection to more layout. On #2 the upper left hand corner is going to require a very sharp curve or your cars will be really, really close to that edge/backdrop.

And unless conditions absolutely forbid it, use the closest to scale rail that you can (code 70 or 83). A little more expensive, sometime slightly harder to lay but the difference in appearance (especially on a small layout) is significant.

The one posted in my last post is the one I planned to use and it will be done in HO and I was thinking about code 83 as well. The layout is more or less gonna be module or shelf layout as what I'm planning to do on my full layout in my new house won't exactly go with my New England theme. As I mentioned I'm dying to get rolling on building one so I thought this would work nicely.

You could always truncate the upper left corner of that warehouse to give yourself some room. That type of thing is pretty common in the real world, where buildings conform to the shape of preexisting trackwork.

I am having no luck coming across Atlas turnouts and I have been told new ones on the website won't be until the fall. I have seen that Walthers is compatible with the Atlas flex-track. So what are the Walthers alternatives to the 540 and 541, will right and left hand #5 work?
