I did a search and did not see anyone post about this yet. Anyone going? Four of us from my club, N-Trak of Bloomington-Normal (NTBN) will be there with T-Trak modules. You can see more about the show at www.centralohiontrak.org I have never been but have heard from fellow members that this is a great show to go to. So in short, who's coming, what are you bringing to run and anyone want to meet up?
Jim, I did post about the 5th Ohio N-scale Weekend about 1 week ago. For those within a day's drive of Columbus, Ohio, the event is at the Franklin county Fairgrounds, 4100 Columbia St., Hilliard, OH. Hours for the public are 10a-5p Saturday, May 18, and 9a-3p Sunday, May 19. Admission is $5.00 for those over 12 years of age. Around 15 N only vendors and 10 layouts. Come and enjoy. Craig
I will be there with North East Indiana N Scale. Will be 5th year attending. 4th with club layout. Dan Brown
I'll be there with a vendor table to show some of my N-scale ships. After some "more serious than expected" hand surgery last Monday, I may not have some of the bigger ships, as my stock was sent to customers and I haven't been able to rebuild. It's hard even to type this post. I will have the new 610' Laker, the 125' cutter, the 142' tug (in two versions for ATSF and one for PRR), the 260' ATSF car float and dock, the 173' patrol craft, and perhaps the 478' container ship. And lots of nautical parts like winches, cargo hatches, funnels, rescue boats, ready lockers--if I can get them bagged up and labeled. I'm disappointed that I won't have the N scale containers, as the Z scale containers turned out really fine, or the big 614' modern 2200 TEU container ship, which is huge, or the Reliant cutter, which has proven too difficult to manufacture--so far.
Don't forget, we are having our NMRA regional convention in Dayton, only one hour west of Columbus, that weekend also, the 16th-18th. The convention will have various operating sessions and clinics given by Allen McClelland and Tony Koester. Jim Hediger will also be there. http://www.mcr2013convention.com/ Thanks, Hans
I'll be there with the Burning River N Society layout. I'll bring a camera if I can remember:question:
Curse you people for having this on the same weekend as thr Scouts family bash camping trip!... again! for the third year in a row! gonna try to make it Sunday with the kids. was really looking forward to it being in Springfield since its so close to home compared to Columbus.
You can buy a one day registration and attend the clinics or see if any of the Saturday ops sessions still have room, this is listed in the individual layouts section of the website. You can also come on Thursday, tomorrow, or Friday for clinics or ops sessions too. We also have two layouts in our hotel; one for display, a local HO scale modular layout, quite large, or you can operate with car cards and waybills on the "Dalmatian" HO scale layout. If you are interested in purchasing V&O cars, Virginian and Ohio cars made famous by Allen McClelland layouts, we have box cars and reefers for sale, although they are HO scale. Yeah, I know, I wish there were more items in N scale too.
Think I will forego the Dayton show and stay at the Columbus event. Rubbing elbows with HO'ers is not real high on my priority list.
do you know how much these V&O cars are going to be and which location/vendor will be selling them? I'd ask my dad to pick one up since he'll be at the show, he's working there doing i don't know what,... but it would be a gift for him!
Our club, the NMRA Division 3 club is selling them. I don't remember the exact prices but I know they varied. We have a 40' outside sheathed box car, a 50' double door box car and whole lot of 40' ice reefers. The box cars are box car red while the reefer is yellow. I believe another NMRA club, division 7 from Cinci is also selling a 50' single door box car in blue. I believe they run from $12 to $17. I am working in the room that sells the cars for the next two days, the Raffle/Door Prize/White Elephant/Company Store room. Your dad is working at the show? What is his name? I have a list of all of the participants. If he doesn't get one at the show, I believe we are going to continue to sell them from our Division 3 club's website.
