Happy day after Independence day everyone. From the Archives: back in 2006, this Cub Scout GP60 was racing west on the old CB&Q racetrack in LaGrange Il.

Here is a building which all too often confuses even MILW fans. Their former Butte Yard, Montana office. Some accidently believe it is the replacement passenger station, which in reality is about a mile further north. Others overlook it altogether. Even RRSHS has yet to list it, even though I have informed them it exists:
Few photos from my trip up to Rochelle with a couple friends. The Railroad Lodge in Rochelle, next to the UP to wrap up this set.
It's not surprising. It is so easy these days to forget something so intangible as a long abandoned railroad.
Over the past few years, I have managed to get several misidentifications changed, but at times it has been a chore. RRSHS also lists an ex-MILW depot moved to Butte, and supposedly being used as a business, from Silver Bow. MILW never had a depot at Silver Bow. Most likely this is the ex-NP from Silver Bow. I keep forgetting to check on this, the few times I get back to that vicinity. I'll know it on sight, having visited that depot when still in RR use.
