At least I think it is a freight car. I figured you guys will figure it out fast: https://twitter.com/KatoUSAInc
Looks like Amtrak Phase IVb to me on the side of an autorack. Bring on the Autotrain! Goodbye wallet.
Yep - that's exactly what it is... wow. My Auto-Train era is 70's though so this particular beast is out of my range. Whew! -Mike Edit: do a Google image search for "Amtrak 9238" to see what this car would look like.
Cool! Is this car an "amtrak special" or can we expect future releases with other RR companies? Seb N scale US trains
Dang man, you are good... Although personnally I wish they'd do 1970's era Auto-Train...that would sell like hot cakes and they could bash together the set from many other molds they already have.
It really does not say what scale but I can't recall Kato coming out with much in HO before they do it in N.
But the Amtrak Autotrain autorack is different than other autoracks. And there goes Kato's west coast bias, these cars belong on an east coast train.
The human passengers ride in Superliner cars. Their cars and they ride from a D.C. suburb (Lorton, VA) to the Orlando (Sanford, FL) area.
Probably not, considering that the Superliners are already readily available. That and I can just see it now, Kato selling a 20 pack of autoracks...
The AutoTrain in is mostly Superliner IIs... So maybe if they are doing the AutoTrain we'll get some of those!!
