hello, i just installed the mrc 0001957 decoder in a brand new kato f7a . the trouble is i get sound the bell and horn sound fine. but light will not work at all and the display on my power cab shows forward but it travels in reverse and and in reverse it travels forward. i have two other units that i have tcs decoders in and have not had any problems with. i tried reinstalling and tried to set cv# 125 to reset to factory defaults. but nothing seems to work any ideas how to find out what is going on. i have another one i was was to to install in my other f7 but if i am going to have this kind of trouble i think i will leave the tcs in it. thanks dennis

It is not the decoder manual, but you could try this CV bit from the NMRA recommended practice.
“Bit 0 = Locomotive Direction: "0" = normal, "1" = reversed. This bit controls the locomotive's forward and backward direction in digital mode only. Directional sensitive functions, such as headlights (FL and FR), will also be reversed so that they line up with the locomotive’s new forward direction.”

    help
i just did not do anything since last post left layout unplugged and trains in the box, put it on the layout and now the direction issue solved itself. now i have a new issue. trying to set it up as an advanced consist with nce power cab, now sounds and head light work but it is set as the lead but when i add power to the throttle it does not move, how ever the second loco in the consist moves. this is getting a little frustrating.lol . any ideas for this newbie.

Make sure that CV19 is set to the consist address. For example if your consist = 1, then CV19 will = 1. Need to do for both locos on their original address. Both locos will now run nose to tail. If you wish to set tail to tail, then CV19 will = 1, for lead loco, and CV19 will be =129 (1+128) for the trailing loco. To have the locos do everything in harmony, sounds only, then set CV21 = 1. To have the lights work in various configurations then you will make changes to CV22. I have set CV22 = 3 for all my consists which means that lights come on on both locos forwards and backwards.
