Recently purchased one of these off of Ebay for a very low price (advertised as not running). Finally got around to working on it and found broken wires, one wheel wiper missing, and cracked gears in the gearcases. I know I have seen posts by a member of this forum that has parts for this lokie, can anyone point me in the right direction? This is the CPR version that was imported by a company in Canada, but I presume the parts are the same.

I bought one at Red Caboose in NYC in mid-80's. Shorted out very quickly. Was directed to a fellow in Temecula, CA. if memory serves correct.
Just go with the new Bmann!

I have the new M'mann and love it. I just bought this one to tinker with and don't plan on keeping it.

Mark (Spookshow) at his site did a review and there somewhere listed a part number for the gears from NWSL. Can't help with the wiper but maybe you can fabricate a new one from brass strip.

Someone on this forum may know how to contact Gene Maddox, who owns (or perhaps owned, past tense) most all of the Samhongsa replacement brass gear inventory. Virtually 100 percent of the N Scale Sam gears which contact the worm split, but Sam did furnish all-brass replacements. I have purchased dozens of sets of these gears from Gene over the years. I do not know how to contact him these days - I last saw a posting by Gene on the Yahoo NScale Yard Sale group a year or so ago.

the wheel wipers are odd in the way they sit in the truck frame. I am surprised they don't short out. The truck casting must not be very conductive

IIRC, there is some clear insulation sandwiched between the wipers and the sideframes that keeps them from shorting out. I can't remember if all four wipers have the insulation or just two (one per truck). The NWSL part # for replacement gears is 1089-6.

    Cheers,
