Today is February 20th, the international day of Z scale! So what are your plans for today and this weekend? Anyone planning to run trains or work on the layout? Rob
I run my Z scale trains almost every day. I'm working on a new module and a small layout in a imitation dynamite box. I've included a sound module with explosion sound for inside the mine. OH!...and Happy International Z Day to everyone!!!
I'm celebrating International Z Day-I finally bought a Micro-Trains Milwaukee Road SD-40-2!!! Gonna' work on my layout, and build a Milw 40" Ribside car I've been thinkin' about too!!
Darn, is it Z-day today. Then I definitely need to dig out the layout, dust things off, turn on the spotlights and take some engines for a spin around the track. Cheers Mikael
I just got my AZL Santa Fe GP-38-2. Gonna get it on the test loop and finish the breakin. Then I will do more work on the small layout. So far, GP-38 is great as usual.
Well, I just built and trimmed out the base for my south yard expansion. Yes finally I got off my arse and decided that it was time to get the yard. Now I have to decide what track, build or buy turntable, get a roundhouse...etc But that is half the fun.
Well I had a fantastic day as the latest issue of 'Continental modeller' magazine, which is the U.K specialist model mag for european and american modelling hit the newstands with an eight page article about 'Shasta' my SP/UP layout not only that but it was in as 'plan of the month' As I'm trying to spread the gospel about Z in England this is a real boost Kev
congratulations, guess I will try and order a copy from publisher as it is not available over here on a regular basis, that I know of.
Kev that is great! Congratulations! I can't wait to get my copy of CM. We have the Shasta article schedule to run in the March/April issue of Ztrack for those of you who do not get CM. Rob
I know I'm slow but now I have put together a clip with what I did on Z-day. I dusted off my old yard layout and gave my new Gaugemaster controller a testrun. My old Märklin Pacific ran fine. So did the MTL F7 but they sound like a breakdown. For some reason the B-units run better than the A-units so they are hard to run together. GP9/GP35 runs like dream with the Gaugemaster. I can even run them in the yard. Never worked with the trafo. SD40-2 doesn't run that well, very slow. I don't know if that is because I haven't run them for awhile. I will hace to test with the trafo.
Kev, I received my copy of Continental Modeler. Your Shasta article looks great! CM did a fantastic job with it. Thank you for acknowledgment. I really appreciate it. Rob
