I have two atlas sd50 and one sd60 that are making a screetching noise. I have changed trucks, frames, drive lines and even got a new motor. One of them makes the noise always the others are intermittent. I have lengthened the drive line , shortened it and everything is lined up perfectly. I even got new frame halves. When I got the New frame halves I used all new parts and motor with cradle and still it makes the noise? Anybody got the answer? (other than chucking it)

This might sound silly, since you already replaced almost all of the entire driveline components, but did you apply minimal amounts of lube and to the driveline components and the bearings? Also check the tightness on the frame halves when reassembled. Sometimes they're overtightened. Backing them off slightly might solve your problem.

Are the wheelsets in gauge ? If the gauge is to wide...the flanges rubbing against the inside of the rails will make a pretty loud squeal.

Sounds like needs lube on the worm bearings, to me, but also seems you have covered that.

Maybe try assembling piece by piece. start with the motor, universal, drive train, worms and bearings, etc. Test after adding each part.

Atlas screeching is usually solved by lubricating the bearing blocks.
