Okay since I'll spend ALL day BOTH Saturday AND Sunday running B&O/Chessie trains at Galesburg a short report.....LARGE N-trak layout is running well, T-trak same....PLENTY of GREAT DEALS!!!!!! We were VERY busy talking to visitors and their children....All in all a great show.....Can't wait for tomorrow so I can stretch out my B&O SD50's......GET here if you can......!!!!!!

I only went to the train fair at the college to spend my money and there was no shortage of items vying for it. I only took my cell phone, so the few pictures that I took were kind of disappointing. However, the rest of the show was NOT! There was a very good mix of items for sale and most at very good prices as well. I only bought one open hopper in Burlington livery, a couple of Burlington Bulletins (a publication by the Burlington Route Historical Society), some locomotive decals, Digitrax decoders for my new Kato F-2's and a dozen chances on that beautiful ES44DC that Jim Wiggin painted. Next year I plan on going on Saturday morning if at all possible and go down to the displays at the Amtrak depot also. I am lucky that things worked out so I could go, so it wasn't a total wash. I will also take more money!
I also got to say hi to zinker55 at the layout he was with while buying tickets for the ES44DC. Looking forward to next year!
As an n-scaler and B&O fan, I wish I would have seen you at the n-layout. This is the first time I did not purchase something at the show other than admission and lunch. There was a lot of new n-scale for sale, just could not connect with it. Overall, I missed seeing some of the regulars at the n-track layout.
Again, I'm getting pretty old I guess. I was so busy running trains and speaking to people that I did not take one picture....I was really glad that the crowds did come back from a pretty bad showing last year....Plenty of children, young and old...Burlington Bob was there....Nice to match a face with a name....But no pics......AGAIN sorry, I'll do better next time......
If anyone sees a Con-Cor or Life Like N Scale Heritage 2-8-4 Berkshire for sale for less than $125, buy it and I'll buy it from you.
None of the show I'm 'fraid but 'eres a few around town... An unusual, but not unexpected, visitor to the yard... A trio normally assigned to hump service... Another arrival... Saw one heritage hopper in the twilight's last gleaming... Mr. President connects with the locals.... A new visitor this year brought back visions of the early days of Galesburg; the conflicts with the local college, the Military Tract Railroad, and how the area around five points used to look... While most foamers hung around the County 10 road bridge and Peck Park, I ventured out on the Peoria branch... A last shot from the foamer's paradise of Peck Park, If you like that artsy stuff...
