Hello all, I'm trying to get some info on the Rolfs Laedchen working traffic lights. I've emailed the contact email on their website 3 times, but have gotten no response. Does anyone on the board have experience with these? Are they wired up as a common anode design? The reason I'm asking is because I'll probably have to use another driver, so I can get the US traffic light sequence, rather than the German. Thanks, Ajay
John, I recall seeing a posting on Z Central Station about Rolf making one with the US light sequence in 2010 or so, but haven't seen any follow up since then. If he did make it I'm sure it would be very popular. Cheers, Ajay
Last I heard he was working on getting one that was programmable. I can call him today and get an update. I can also ask how many wires are coming off of his lights
I just got off the phone with him. They are still waiting for the circuits to be made. He told me that each traffic light has 4 wires, one for power going to the lights and then each LED has a wire to the controller, so 4 wires total. Double traffic lights have 8. He told me he will send me a diagram from the instructions, and has given me permission to post them here.
Thanks, Burlington Route. I certainly would appreciate if you could share the circuit diagram. If it is a common anode design, I can use a simple timing circuit as the one from Circuitron to control the lights. Did you get the idea that the circuits which Rolfs was making was imminent (3-4 months)? If so, it might be sensible to wait. How do I go about contacting to place an order? All of my emails to kundenberatung(at)rolfs-laedchen.com have gone unanswered so far. Is that the correct email to contact him? Thanks, Ajay
Thanks, Mattias. I did use the .de domain when emailing the previous times and not the .com as I mistakenly put in my last post. Thanks, Ajay
Email could have been caught in a spam filter Rolf is probably the nicest guys you will ever meet in the Z world, but his English is not the best. I will give him a heads up and if he gets emails or orders from the States, I will gladly translate them for him if he wants.
Thanks. I will wait for you to post the circuit diagram when you receive it from Rolf. if it is a common-anode design I will go ahead and order using the word document on the website. Hopefully, it will go through this time. Cheers, Ajay
I am sorry I did not reply sooner. My hard drive had a catastrophic failure and I have been without a computer until just now. I got a reply from Rolf, and he sent me some diagrams to translate. As soon as I get them worked out I will post them here. Also, if someone here needs to get in touch with him and you cant get the Email to him, you can send it to me and I will forward it to him. Again I am sorry it took so long.
Actually, it is my bad. I meant to thank you for putting me in touch with Rolf, but totally spaced out. Rolf and I are now in email contact and we are both using 'Google translate' effectively. He says that his controller for traffic lights should be available around the end of this year. Thanks again for facilitating this.... Cheers, Ajay
