Test shots of the Fox Valley Milwaukee Transfer Caboose, undec only, have been posted on their facebook page ----

Looks pretty good to me, but then most cabooses do!!!! This would make a good caboose for a freelanced shortline!!!!

    Here's a link to the pictures --- https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fox-Valley-Models/92694309796

I'm not a facebook member and I was able to view the pictures.

I saw these transfer versions. I am eager for the B&O wagontop cabooses to get to the local hobby shops.
    I have some ordered.

I have seen the photos of the B&O's. They look very good too. Pics of the undec B&Os are also on Fox Valley's facebook page. I haven't seen any pics of decorated ones. I have been told the B&O versions maybe in the next container.

The Milwaukee cabooses look really nice. A must for modelers of Milwaukee, Chicago, Kansas City, and a couple other locations.

As for the Espee, what do those look like? The only photo I could find quickly online looks a lot like the Blueford transfer caboose.

    Best wishes, Dave

Blueford did do Southern Pacific caboose 1, a C-50-10 (the only one). Commonly thought to be a Transfer Caboose, this was in fact the Prototype for a series of Road Cabooses. It was built from damaged C-50-3 #4401 in 1980. The design was based on the Missouri Pacific's 13700 class, known as a 'Short Body' bay window caboose. Frame length remained the same, but the body was shortened and it has no roof overhang. Only one was built probably because the cost saving was not there, and not much later cabooses started to be phased out...

Southern Pacific did have several transfer cabooses in the late '50's but most of them were built out of retired steam locomotive tenders (using just the frame and bottom sheeting of the tender) with a small shelter for the crewman riding on it. Pictures and more info can be found in Tony Thompson's excellent book Southern Pacific Freight Cars Vol 2 - Cabooses

These are strictly based of a Milwaukee Road prototype. So you'll most likely get the assortment of Milwaukee paint schemes Matt usually delivers.

Bluford's Transfer Caboose is also based off of a prototype (MP, IIRC), but "can" fit more paint schemes and still be close. I keep meaning to get the C&EI one, as they're really sharp looking.
