I tried my hand at some weathering using some old freight cars that I had laying around, didn't really like any of the prototypes of these cars or I couldnt find them so I mostly "eyed" it. But for the BNSF 5804 I did try to copy the prototype. Criticism is welcome!
The water car and the loco came out rather nicely. I'd suggest a little more of the wash on the loco grilles, almost all the prototypes I see the body color is almost invisible there. For the rust streaks (as on the covered hopper) maybe try lighter applications next time; it's a more subtle effect than many of us get the first few times.
Not bad at all. The GN box car looks like it has been through a few long tunnels, behind coal burning steamers.
BB2921 You are really doing a nice job. Keep up the good work and keep posting your work. Very Very nice!!!
The water car looks good. I can't tell much about the boxcars rom the angle of the photo. The hopper may a bit heavy on weathering, but as someone once said, theres's a prototype for everything. What are you using? Powders, chalks, acrylics, washes, airbrush, dry brush? Keep it up. Looking good so far. Scott
I liked the 'POV' pic with the trees in the background. Nicely done. It would be helpful to me if there was a space between images. It makes it easier to isolate each item.
