I am looking for a factory or big industry kit that is 2-3 stories high and approximately 10" in length and 3" deep. It will be placed in a mountainous scene with a grade running behind it. Looking for kits that are easy to assemble and work with. Thanks - William
You can make just about anything you want out of Cornerstone Modulars. Also, the Cornerstone "Red Wing Milling" kit bashes into a low-profile structure very nicely - Cheers, -Mark
You may also want to look at DPM's Woods Furniture kit as a source of modular components. I find them much finer than the Cornerstone Modulars parts. Lots of extra castings and such play with as well. Dave
Try the following manufactures; each has one or more structures designed to be used as background flats. Model Tech Studios Blair Line Downtown Deco GC Laser Sidetrack Laser Kits Many of the Walthers big buildings can be halved as can some of the Pikestuff kits. Pikestuff also sells wall and roof sections along with doors, windows etc. separately. And don’t think you need “Three dimensionality” in you background industries. It is perfectly acceptable to park that box or tank car next to a picture/image of an industry far too large to model in 3D.
Hi William... This link is to a specific model by Custom Model Railroad (CMR). The dimensions are about the size you've quoted above. http://www.custommodelrailroads.com/judysjamsandjellies_N.aspx
