I, like many, sure miss Sunrise Enterprise's detail parts. With all the Shapeways designers out there, will anyone step up to think about creating their own versions of some of the detail parts once produced by Sunrise? Among many, I find myself missing the different variations of light clusters, CNW " nose" bells ( and other bell types), and MILW spark arrestors/exhaust stacks.

    Will anyone save us?

It would be nice for someone to do such things. It's all about return on investment though...
If someone wanted to put up some money to start this kind of project, maybe Showcase Miniatures could do it. They already use 3D printing for the master and then cast parts.

    Hi W Neal,

I am happy to pick some of these up. I have all ready done some details like this such as my re-railers below

For parts like this, to make them cost affective they are available in bulk packs.

To make it easy for me, given that I have several projects on the go, let’s do one at a time. What would you like me to do first?

Would be a great part, especially since the same basic type of bell is also used on nearly every electrified crossing signal in North America. No need for something CNW to put it on if you have one of these.

of course since Shapeways has a handling fee of $5 for every file that they print, just simply design these in "100 packs" and the cost per detail will be very attractive.
