Just picked up a couple of these and they do not roll worth a hoot… any solutions… It seems the metal wheels contact and rub the bottom of the car.. spacers is my idea so far…. any help out there.. thanks.

Wow that's surprising and not in keeping with BLMAs quality. I've got a dozen of these reefers and granted they don't roll as friction free as Microtrains trucks, the wheels certainly don't rub on the body. Stupid question, but are you sure all the axels are mounted in the trucks correctly? Another possibility, I wonder if someone screwed up and stuck 36 inch wheels in the trucks instead of 33s. (assuming 33 inch wheels are correct. I don't know.)

ed. Just checked BLMAs website and they are indeed supposed to have 36" wheels.

The trucks are a bit tight on some of these...simply remove the wheelsets and press outward on the journals until the wheelsets roll freely. I occasionally have to do this with new BLMA cars - and that's what Craig told me to do...and I've got a bunch of BLMA cars.

    Hi Guys,

We've had some issues with the 64' Reefers in that the wheels are rubbing on the frame. This has only affected some cars in some runs; the tolerances must be +/-.001".

Please contact me off list at sales@blmamodels.com for a quick fix. Thank you for your support of our product and patience.
