With the start of the NMRA convention in only a few short days, and setup for the NTS beginning next Wednesday, thought I would start a thread on the large Free-Mo-N layout we will have at the show. Four groups will be joining together to bring our modules into a single layout:
    • Silicon Valley
    • N-Land Pacific
    • Pacific Northwest
    • Minnesota
This will be a great opportunity to see all the cool modules you've been following here in the forums. And, if you must, you can also wander around the vendor and manufacturer booths, too.

In preparation, I've been making "traveling shields" for the sides of my modules, and last weekend reprogrammed all the locos I'm taking for unique addresses (we have each been given 100 addresses to use - had to print a cheat sheet, since they will no longer be the road number on the units).

Anyone / everyone in attendance - please stop by and introduce yourself!

I wish I could have made it too. I had this on the calendar over a year ago.

I hope everything comes together perfectly. Thank you guys for representing FreemoN!

It feels like I'm missing the Super Bowl of FreeMo-N! Really wish I could have brought my modules and enjoyed the show. Enjoy Rick and everyone else attending!
I still need to edit the video from the 2015 NSE Convention in Sacramento from June!

I also was hoping to go as, in addition to the m.r. related fun, I just love Portland. Alas, it was not to be.

Another big show I can't make. Really bummed me out with Sac., but seeing the talk going around with the layout design this is one layout not to miss. Rick find out who does videos for use I want to see some action.

It will probably have to be me, what with neither MC nor Ryan there. We will have MC's Shoo-Fly module, along with Effet, Loose Caboose and My Coffin.

I'll be there with a combined Mt Rainier N-Scale/ Stevens Pass oNetrak layout.
I'll show you ours if you show me yours! It'll be cool to see those modules, looking forward to it

Wow. That is getting up in size. A person could spend a long time, wandering along and looking.

We are hoping to see everyone there! Has been a tiring day, and we have most everything working, but there is a lot of travel related issues that need work, across all the groups. And, on top of that, the typical "that isn't the way we do it" that happens when four groups get together. No one in the wrong, but hot day, no AC in the hall, since doors were open for vehicles, lots of tired folks. But, a few trains did get run around most of the layout.

I took about 100 photos just walking down the main line, and will try posting, first to the SV FreeMoN Facebook page, and then here. Will see how well uploading using a hotel Wifi will work. These are basically snapshots, not "good" photos

I've posted 128 photos on the Silicon Valley FreeMoN Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/SiliconValleyFreeMoN, of a walk around the layout. Rather than repost everything tonight, I encourage all to look there, if you can.

There are about 20 scale miles of mainline track on the layout, with huge yards, sidings, etc. I am looking forward to actually running a large train on it.

Was taking some more shots today (most to post later), but decided to play with an artistic effect I always wanted to try. This is a 5 second exposure, the train entering the Bridge of Wonder.
