I installed a econami into the N scale Bachmann class J. I've noticed the tender is bulging a tad. Not sure if it was like that before. Would you recommend taking it apart and realigning things or just enjoy the damn thing..ha Thanks
Is the decoder hot and causing the bulge ? Earlier Tsunami 750's were/are famous for over heating. I would hope that Soundtraxx has "fixed" that problem. Carl
Hey Carl, It was my poor wire management issue has bene fixed and now its secured properly and with no bulge. I have noticed after 30 minutes of running it does not get warm at all. My BLI PA1 can melt butter after that much running
I use a 750 in my 2-10-2 . I've run it for as much as a hour or so at a time and haven't notices any heating problems .
The key here is I said early versions. Check with somebody who had one of the Athearn Challengers after the Tsunami's were first installed. I know, from Athearn, that they had a problem because I attempted to purchase just a tender for a bash project and was told they had no more available because all the melted tenders had to be replaced. I had to make a heat shrink when I first installed a 750 in my GS-4. Newer releases are most likely, better I hope. Carl
Too my knowledge, the 750 overheat is still an issue but only in some HO scale models. I have been watching the Yahoo SoundTraxx group for some years. Some are suggesting the new Econami decoder, measures, 27mm x 10.5mm x 5mm, SoundTraxx says it is the smallest sound decoder they sell. Rich
