Must be Friday, must be time to discuss Weekend Modeling Plans!

My usual weekend of having a Saturday and Sunday off is back for this week so no quiet Friday off for me. Saturday I plan top watch Jared play a game of indoor soccer, followed by taking my sweetheart to one of my favorite restaurants as well as meet up with some old friends. We both could use a day to ourselves as we both have been non-stop since before Christmas and since we'll be both busy during Valentines Day, we'll celebrate it this Saturday. Sunday we are supposed to get another snow storm so I have stocked up on tea and pod casts with the intention of working on the N scale modules. I now have the two of the three modules hooked up and have run trains between the two of them without any real issues other than dirty track. Module three needs a bit of a retro fit as I changed the leg mounting from a slide in snug fit to a bolt on fit. If I can get the hardware part done, I'm confident I can get the few pieces of track down that make up module three. After that, it's time to start adding the Tam Valley Frog Juicers and servo controls. I'm running about a week behind of where I want to be but I should be able to make up the difference in time somewhere.

So how about you? What do you have on your project list this weekend? Bench work, track work, scenery? Let us know. We'll all come back here on Monday the 9th and see how we all did. Until then, be safe, have a great weekend and...

    High Greens!

Rats. I'm looking for a part. Yesterday, I took a look at the old Revell station that I've had for over half a century, and decided it was time to upgrade it. This is one of those things my Mom found in a box-of-trains at a yard sale. It was put together well, but it was quite dirty. It's thin plastic, so a light inside would make the walls glow, and the walls are still their original shiny red plastic. I carefully took it apart. I brought some of the pieces into my office to measure them for cardstock light-blocks. And then a part of the roof "went missing," and I've not been able to locate it. Oh, well, it's somewhere, it's big enough to see easily, and it will turn up. But where did I put it?

The power supply for the accessory lighting on Phase 3 of my layout should arrive tomorrow, if you believe tracking numbers. That will let me light things a bit, including the station, and will give me power for the turntable at the far end.

What? Really? I never looked in the wastebasket for that part last night? I guess not. There it was.

It's not a "modeling plan," but this weekend I've got snow shoveling to do. As I said, "Rats."

Sunday, I'll be snooping around a local trains-only swap meet/flea market for the usual stuff. Last year was pretty good, so a repeat visit is in order to satisfy my cravings with a train fix.

6 more hoppers to build and decal. Well half decal. I need to go buy some plain numbers and letters. I can get the name on them though. These will make a total of 13 cars labeled like this. Gonna make a coal drag.

What stinks is everyone else benefits from your provocation of Murphy's Law, and none of them even send a "thank you" message! :(
