Hey guy's. looking for info\advice on katos ho track system. what is the good and the bad on it, whats best way to buy it peice by peice or in there boxed sets. how are the turnouts wired for powered control of them and anything else you guys can tell me bout it thanks.
no not really for the time being i just want a oval with a passing siding i have some of the 2-220 24 radius curves here got those yesterday but the lhs wasn't super helpful and i have a 6ft x 10 ft table to build on thought double track later on with 24 and 26 radius see they have a passing siding kit but other than turnouts it don't list what is in it what would i need to do that id like to use the 2-180 14inch straights for a few less peices at the moment any help would be great i need to see my trians run or im going to give up on this again its why im frustrated i know it takes forever to lay normal track and i just aint got the paitence for that so thanks.
Kato track, N or HO, works great. There are very few, if any, problems (in N, there is the #4 switch point issue, but it is easily corrected). Check the KatoUSA.Com website for full details on available track, as well as some basic layout diagrams. The best thing for me, when I was getting started, was just laying track out and playing with it.
okay thank you for the information on it do the ho no 4 turnouts have this said problem and if so how is it corrected.
I have never heard of any problems on either the 4 or 6 HO turnouts. The issue is the points don't sit against the rai, nicely, and one needs to file small pockets for them.
