Can you believe it's September? Wow, seems like to me the summer took the A train and burst out of the station at a lightning speed! Well here we are, ready for another weekend.

Same as last week for me as I prefer to work on the weekends as it gives me three days off during the week allowing me to get more done without disruptions. Today is mini weekend day one and I have a lot to do. I've been working on decals for a customers 2 rail O scale locomotive since July and have hit road block after road block. An e-mail late last night to another decal vendor may have solved my problem so as soon as I work on fine tuning my artwork, I should be ready to decal this loco in a few weeks.

The B&M GP-9 #1729 is done and now is listed on my Ebay store so attention today will be on finishing up my CB&Q NW-2 as well as installing BLMA fans into a customers set of four SD50's.
So how about you? What do you have listed on your weekend agenda? Let us know. We'll be back on, what? We have a day off? Oh yeah, we can't say goodbye to summer without Labor day. Yup thats right, there is an extra day in there like we have done in years past so remember, we won't be back until Tuesday the 8th. So until then, have a happy, safe and great time this Labor Day weekend and...

    High Greens!

If I get to anything this weekend (just got back from Portland yesterday afternoon -- took a slow ride down the coast), it will be reprogramming all my decoders for the trains I took (we each had assigned address ranges, to prevent problems with loco address conflicts). Much prefer the loco number, so all I have to do is look at it, rather than a cheat sheet, to run.

I started working in the train room again yesterday after a fun file summer of fishin. I programmed 5 locos with sound. Sunday I will continue my work/play time. I need to continue wiring the layout and cleaning up the train room.

I wasted no time this week - I fixed yet another delinquent engine, a Proto GP18 that I had recently finished repainting as GTW 4703. I was running it when it stalled. On the power pack's ammeter, it read over 1 amp. After investigation I found that it was due to a sloppily-wired homebrew directional/constant lighting circuit - one of the wires was glued to the big weight and the insulation had broken down, causing a short. So I rewired the circuit and everything runs fine now.

    I'm getting good at this.

I still have some Kadees to install on some rolling stock, which should keep me busy.

Another ambitious weekend, this time fueled by a Monday holiday to boot. Let's see.

    1. More painting including clouds in the train room.
    2. Priming and painting in the stairwell up to the train room.
    3. Putting in some time on the SRM H.W. Myers thing I've started.
    4. College football game tomorrow night

Yeah. Ambitious weekend. We shall see.

I always plan more than I can do and see what I get done. I surprise my self sometimes.
