I purchased 2 new dcc atlas SD35's One starts moving at 17 on my digitrax trottle the other one wont start till 45. Is this the nce decoder causing this or the motor itself?
I am not wired for dc just dcc. But i can remember before scale speed motors my engines used to run out of the box pretty close. Since i got back into n scale the new locos are so mismatched and take so much throttle to start rolling. My new bachmann sound equiped sd45 i am assuming is not a scale speed motor. It starts nice and smooth on 3?
Try doing a reset on the decoder, might help. Otherwise you might have to play with cv's to match them up.
Ok thanks, i will reset them to factory default. I was going to play with adjusting the cv's. But didnt think they should be that far diffent. Unless the cv's were changed even though they were new. Thanks i will try reset 1st.
Ok very excited now. I reset the decoders to factory default with same issue. Next i adjusted cv2 start v on both engines till they both started to crawl on speed step 1. One is set at 100 the other at 50. They stay at the same speed till about speed step 7 next i adjusted cv6 mid v only on 1 of them. They are so close in speed all the way to speed step 50. I wont mess with cv5 cause i wont run them any faster anyway. Now i am going to use 1 as a standard and adjust all (only 4 more for now) my engines to that one. Thanks for the help. Btw my new bachmann SD45 with sound isnt one of the 4 i think that one is a lost cause lol
