About what time frame we talking about, pre war or post? I would think changing reporting marks would be done fairly quickly
It's too early to rule out any railroad since the secondhand market for these cars was pretty widespread but we haven't come across Milwaukee Road yet. We just discovered TP&W this week and expect more will come out of the wood work as we go. Craig Bluford Shops
Looks like Montour stopped applying the M reporting mark in the mid to late 50's. The version we're doing uses "MONTOUR" as a the mark much in the way SOUTHERN did. By 1963, the MTR reporting mark was being applied according to the photos we have. Craig Bluford Shops
Yes except possibly the Berwind which we haven't confirmed yet (I suspect they were PRR GLa design hoppers but we'll see if they had these USRA cars too.) Craig Bluford Shops
Picked up a 3 pack of CIL 3-bay hoppers at the Walthers warehouse sale price a couple weeks ago and am now a convert. Really nice cars. So hoping you get around to the C&EI USRA cars before too long (and late 40s/early 50s vs the block lettering of later years). Probably also in for a couple of the Wabash panel side. I don't really need them, but I like the distinct panel.
