Well, I managed to get a couple of cars done this week! Another Ex-Wabash Boxcar painted in N&W colors after taking over the lease of the Wabash from the PRR. This car has a much more colorful history, originally built in 1924 it was rebuilt in 1948 to the current standards of the time and then rebuilt again in 1962 utilizing frames from old 40' Gondolas. I used a Front Range 40' Boxcar kit as starters and removed the orginal side sill and replaced it with a full width side sill from Evergreen Plastic. Also replaced the cast sill steps with those of A-Line Products, painted with Scalecoat II Boxcar Red and lettered with Mask Island Decals. Intermountain PS 4750 CF Covered Hopper Kit, painted with Scalecoat II MofW Gray and lettered with Oddballs Decals. Car has a built date of 1980 so I did not include the ACI label as they were being phased out at that time. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski
OOPS, better not let my wife see this. I thought I had parked our '63 mini-bus around the corner where it wouldn't be obvious, but that didn't quite turn out to be as discrete as I had hoped. No wonder you were run down and ill last week, three shows a night will certainly whup the stuffin's out of you. You oughta take care of yourself better, dear lady. Glad you're feeling better. BTW, we did own a '63 VW Mini-bus just like that one. The boys loved it because they rode in the back on top of the engine compartment. Of course that was before Big Brother got involved with keeping us safe from ourselves....
Three shows a night, after a whole day of driving that big ol' DL109 for the New Haven! There's a hard workin' gal for you.
Even though I model the Milwaukee road , I must admit that the Cranberry is a model worthy train. Modeling Buzzards Bay with some hidden staging for the Woods Hole and Hyannis trains...... combining them at Buzzards bay for South Station would make for an interesting operation. Randy
As usual, r i straw, HO explorer and Josta showed us some particularly fine modeling and photography, but it's very good to see that you're feeling better, Candy. BTW, nice modeling and photo. Whew! At least my '54 Ford hasn't showed up in any of those photos.
I just put up more Christmas lights, this time, in the back yard. We are having a party in 2 weeks, and we needed more light. I put up some goucho hooks on my patio cover and mounted a J bolt on the play set....strung lights between them
Talk about an " ugly duckling" ! I, for one, am sure happy the SP did not use this test paint scheme.............................. The devil made me do it ! Carl
