3 out of the past 4 days when I log on to Trainboard the board is not regestering any new posts . Now I know that there are new posts , as the subjects say that people have posted today . But I can not click on the blue dot to take me to the first unread post . I really hate to have to sift through each topic to find the place where I need to start reading . Clicking on the 24 hours box won't work either as the same bug hits that also . Is there a bug in the software of could it be a cookie problem . I've never had this problem with any other bulliten board...Mike PS yes I posted about this some time ago , but it is happening a lot more lately.
Have no idea what it could be. It is not on this end. Maybe browser related. Perhaps cookies. I do not know what the bue dot is you are referencing. (When was the last time you ran your utilities?) Check your browser settings to be sure you have the refresh option chosen. Can you post a screen grab?
OK , the blue dot shows up just to the left of the post title when there are new posts in the thread . Hovering over it , it will say go to first new post . Got comp set up to run checks automatically every week so that's no problem . I also ran Malewarebites last night . Can't do a screen shot , for some reason my ops system is missing part of the program that copies the screen shot from the screen. Never have this problem elsewhere, so I should be refreshing OK . And today will make 4 out of 5 days for this problem....LOL ..
Even though the blue dot says first new post, it actually only takes you to the most recent page of that one specific topic. I have no idea what to suggest. Nobody else is reporting any kind of problem even remotely similar to yours. People are logging in and posting every day with no problems, so everything is working on this end. It has got to be on your computer, browser related.
Well it always takes me to the first post that I haven't read...Maybe I'm special...LOL ! Anyway I dumped all of the old cookies for this site , and as of now it's working correctly . We'll have to see what happens tomorrow..
Nothing has been changed here. Nothing was changed the other day on this end, when you flushed cookies and it began working, which points away from us. I wish there was something I could suggest. We have no other reports of anyone with this problem.
I'm wondering if Trainboard is on the same server as some other site that I go to . Would that have any effect ? I have no idea what other sight I visit that would possibly be affecting it though .
It seems that with the new changeover this problem had disappeared ! Guess it was a bug in the old system .
The problem you describe is not one that I ever witnessed, but I am glad that you are not experiencing it anymore. Charlie
