I'm planning on installing a Timko DC motor in my 302; does anyone know how the direct current might affect the smoke unit's performance?

Also, any ideas as to improving the tender pick-up system? Just two wheels per rail seems barely adequate......

    Thanks

Strummer: As long as the voltage is roughly the same you should not have any problems with the smoke unit. That is, 15 volts RMS(AC) is roughly equivalent to 15 volts Average (DC). The pickup system for most of these locomotives is adequate. Remember that the motor is ony drawing between 1 and 2 AMPS. I have not experienced any problems with my 302 in many hours of operation.
