I have relied on Groups to see what what was relevant to me in N scale and Kato Unitrak. Please bring my access to Groups back.
The data still exists, it's a matter of seeing if/how it can be incorporated into the new architecture. So far other things have been higher on the "to do" list in getting the site back running, but the Groups haven't been forgotten.
As stated, we still have the data from the TB Groups. It is a goal to retrieve this data and import it into the forum structure, delete useless information and incorporate the useful date into the forums. Over time, it became apparent that spreading out the site into too many segments (forum, groups, blogs, multiple photo uploading options) was not a productive strategy. The goal now is to simplify the site and make it easy to use, post content, navigate, etc. We can certainly have a Unitrack sub-forum if we can get the data imported, and I am working on that. I had an offer from someone to do the job for us (move the data from the old database into the new one) but they wanted too much money so I am still working on it. Charlie
I felt like I was posting just to keep the groups alive. I don't think the return on the investment was there.
There were a couple of worth while Groups, such as T-Trak and Unitrak. Otherwise, most just didn't fly. Folks preferred the regular Forums instead. Part of the problem is so many people are forum-centric, bookmark one, maybe two, and just never roam. Which is sad, as they miss out on a lot of other possibilities here.
