Everything is possible, just a question what it takes...

Probably. I haven't tried yet ;) But, like Dom, I am a bit reluctant to remove a nice factory paint job. I know...

BTW, what do you use to remove paint from MTL loco bodies?

    Bruno,

just by one paint scheme you don't like and it's no pain to remove it. I use methylated spirits=ethanol. Works fine, just 10 min soaked in and the paint can be removed with a (old! ;)) tooth brush.

    Howdy Gerd,

Well, that's certainly the way to go. Thanks for the tip ;)

Myself I used a wash of 90° alcohol, the brand you find in every pharmacy. I let the loco's shell soaking inside about 40" and then I brushed the paint away with an old toothbrush as Gerd said. When in the very first few minutes after the beginning of soaking I saw the original UP paint beginning to crumple, I knew it was too late to abort that project!

For the moment my exprience is limited with only that MTL loco. For AZLs I believe it's different as AZL paint would be far harder.

For my next FCCM decorating works, I'm definitly looking forward to using undec rolling stock and motive power. I think one of my next locomotive investment will one undec GP35 for my loco's first sistership:tb-wink:. I guess MTL releases undec boxcars as well, don't I?
