Just a couple rules for the Google Earth contests since we have three classes now.
    First, Where you can participate...

Beginners, 1-6 wins You can compete in any class you chose. Beginner through Advanced.

Intermediate 6-10 wins You can't play beginner class.

Advanced 10-up wins You cannot participate in beginner or Intermediate class.

Expert 25-up wins. You can only participate at this level

If you qualify for beginner class and you solve a Intermediate or Advanced contest you may be moved up to the highest class that you have solved at any of the Moderator's or Administrators discretion. (Some of you are pretty good at this already)

Current contests will be sticky until solved.

Beginner contests will have a "B" before the contest #
Intermediate will have an "I" before the contest #
Advanced will have an "A" or "YHTBK" before the contest #
Expert will have a "E" or you have to know Google Earth inside and out

If you would like to submit or post a contest. Please contact Darren,Bob or I to coordinate.

I hope the new classes even things out a bit,and I would like to encourage everyone to participate!
    Have Fun!

    Scott,

I was thinking of starting a post of the "Tips and Techniques" of solving these contests.
    What do you think?

    Hello Scott,

those rules are good ones, but I got one question:

Does the count for the first contest serie go into the count for those rules? I would think they should, which leaves me at currently 6 wins. If I understand the rules right then I may try a beginner contest until I score the next win. :bear-smile:

I would also recommend that there is a list of the count as a sticky post, since the old list isn't sticky anymore. Perhaps the list could also show how much wins in which categorie:

    name..........B....I....A
    member......3....2....4

or the count can be included in the winning list:

    A00x....Kleinkleckersdorf, Germany.........earthfan...3..2..4

So Scott/Dan can you explain to folks what will be the difference between the Beginners Game vs. the Intermediate Game.

What I'm seeing is that the Intermediate ones only have one photo posted of the site, whereas the Beginners will have at least two to start with. Is that how you see it Scott?

I will normally start off with one photo with a compass,Not too zoomed in. I will post further photos/clues as I see fit. I'll try and get the difficulty between the beginner and advanced contests, But one that is "difficult" for one person may be easy for another. So.......

If it is an engine shop, or some type of engine maintenance facility, it would fit nicely into the Google Earth Contest- Engine Shops. (GECES) The longest going and most popular. If you want to post it, by all means do so. Just look for the most current number, pick the next one and go. Please be sure to attach the Prefix when creating your topic.
