It is certainly nice, but I myself do not see a need for lighting brakeman. Maybe for the odd photoshoot, but not more than once. Nor do I see an easy way to put one in a brakie figure's hand, unless you could sell one. And I do not belive these are of the right type to be hung from the back of a caboose. But I commend you on the designing and effort. The lanturn looks very nice, you might want to thicken the handle a tad. What you do have though is also a basis for a few more options, such as lighinting on top of switch stands, as some had a light in them to show the engineer at night, while others relied on reflectors. How does the current get to the light from the top? Through the handle?
Interesting each other's takes on "scale". My comment on thickening the handle was that too me, the wire has too much inconsistant curve and says "thin wire" to me. But your take on it is different and you went for the scale measurement. I'd forgotten about markers on couplers.
